Update

A little traveling - picked up the inevitable bug - did my taxes. Let's get back to work!

Today is National Anthem Day. Signed into law by President Hoover in 1931.

I recently saw the National Anthem sung in person. It was impressive. But even more impressive was to see the words printed on a screen as they were sung and to realize it was a moving account of exactly what Francis Scott Key witnessed in Baltimore Harbor on the night of September 13, 1814 - "the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air." Gave me goosebumps.

Key had gone to Baltimore to plead for the release of his elderly friend - a physician who had been taken hostage by the British. They both were released and were allowed to go home when the fighting was done.

You can learn more about America's Flag and how it became known as "the Star-Spangled Banner" here.

Wishing you a great week ahead!
