When beer baron Jacob Ruppert bought the NY Yankees in 1914, the team was languishing in the bottom of the American League.

Years later, Ruppert described his purchase as, "an orphan club, without a home of its own, without players of outstanding ability, without prestige.”

​

Ruppert transformed the club into the greatest baseball team of all time - the 1927 NY Yankees.
