Remembering a Legend

OTD in 1922, Sir Ernest Shackleton died at the age of 47 of a massive heart attack.


The day before, he and his crew had arrived at South Georgia - the scene of his most extraordinary accomplishment. As Quest sailed past Stromness, Shackleton pointed out the path he and Worsley and Crean had taken across South Georgia. In his effort to save his team, Shackleton accomplished the impossible.
